Do females get low blood pressure?

Many women experience low blood pressure and it is known as orthostatic hypotension or postural hypotension. Usually low blood pressure primarily affects women than men. Usually this kind of low blood pressure takes place in someone who's rising from sitting position or lying down.

Mostly low blood pressure is caused due to certain health condition, such as pregnancy, hormonal problems like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or low blood sugar, certain medications, Heart arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms), heat exhaustion or heat stroke. It is said that Postural hypotension or low blood pressure occurs very frequently in women who are taking medications to control high blood pressure. Drugs like diuretics, calcium-channel blockers, beta-blockers, and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are used to treat orthostatic hypotension or postural hypotension.
