Hyperthyroidism and Hypertension |
It is known that thyroid hormone, which is produced in the thyroid gland can affect the heart rate when there is a hormone imbalance. This is how researchers have linked hyperthyroidism as being a factor in causing hypertension. The studies show that some of the cases of high blood pressure in people involved in the studies is caused by excessive secretion of thyroid hormones in the body, which led then cause the faster heart beat, associated with high blood pressure in these cases. There could also be other factors in some people with hypertension, which have contributed to the problem including other types of disease, genetics, or other factors. There are some events that can cause hyperthyroidism it could have been caused by a tumor or infection. Either of these conditions could result in the production of more hormones in the body. There has been no studies conducted, which can determine this for certain, but medical experts believe that when a patient with hypertension is found to be experiencing hyperthyroidism. It could be that the high blood pressure might have been a cause of the hyperthyroidism condition, tumors or infection. Tumors and infection are included by research experts because they are a more severe condition than the production of a larger amount of hormones. This is especially beleived when hypertension is diagnosed at an early age, which could have been caused by one of these conditions or other severe health problems. |
