Lotensin HCT Side Effects
The side effects of Lotensin HCT are the same as that for most anti hypertensive medications. Common side effects include headache, fatigue, dizziness and cough. These side effects are generally mild and transient. This means that they do not interfere with normal life activities and fade as the body gets used to the medication. During clinical trials on Lotensin HCT, may people reported postural dizziness. They tend to feel lightheaded and dizzy while standing up after long periods of sitting or lying down. A small percentage of subjects reported experiencing a spinning sensation called vertigo. Some people also experienced erectile dysfunction or impotence while on this medication. Somnolence or excessive drowsiness was also seen in some people. Rare side effects of Lotensin HCT include hypotension or a dip in blood pressure levels, constipation, insomnia, dry mouth, heartburn, diarrhea, gout, a ringing sensation in the ears called tinnitus. These side effects may or may not be related to the medication but they must be reported to the doctor nevertheless. There are some more serious and potentially life threatening side effects associated with the drug. These include swelling of the face, neck, hands and feet, itching, rashes and blistering of the skin, wheezing, fever and sore throat, jaundice, decrease in urine production, increased thirst, tiredness, seizures, confusion, muscle cramps, nausea, irregular heart beat.
