High blood pressure or the hypertension is commonly caused due to defects in the heart, kidney and also with the age factor and it in turn affects the functioning of heart, kidney and the eyes. Hypertension also damages the blood vessels of the retina and the parts of the eyes. It is also speculated that the high blood pressure is found to be one of the causes for glaucoma in which the optic nerve head is severely damaged and it also affects the other blood vessels. |
