Sea salt and high blood pressure

Contrast to popular belief, sea salt consumption does not have any negative impact on blood pressure level of a person. Salt has no direct linkage with factors that can trigger high blood pressure. There is a difference between regular salt we use and sea salt. The difference lies on the sodium content. Regular salt contains 99.9% of sodium chloride while sea salt has 95% sodium chloride. Sea salt contains near about 50 other minerals. In case of sea salt, all trace minerals are retained. As a result, it can interact with body cells in an effective manner. According to medicinal research papers, sea salt can help people suffering from hypertension in a better manner than normal salt. In case of normal salt, several preservatives are also added. They are ferrocyanide, aluminum hydroxide and magnesium carbonate. Aluminum hydroxide is one of the major reasons behind Alzheimer disease. From all these aspects, sea salt can be called as safer for people suffering from hypertension than normal salt.  However, while treating people with hypertension, doctors generally prefer medications rather that dietary supplements like sea salt. Even some of the medicinal studies have found that a strict no to all salts is highly effective for all people suffering from hypertension.
