Blood pressure and stress test

Cardiac stress test is often beneficial for identifying partial blockage in the coronary arteries. It is usually recommended to people with high blood pressure as they stand greater chances of developing blockages than the normally healthy human beings.
Through stress test and exercise it is possible to identify the highest and the lowest level of blood pressure of an individual, during the stress test when a person is exhausted; the blood pressure levels are usually much higher than normal. Similarly, as a person rests for over 15 minutes post exercise, the blood pressure levels might go down much below the normal levels. This is nothing abnormal, considering the fact that the body takes time to get back to its normal state post exercise.
During the exercise session, the blood pressure levels go higher than normal because the heart pumps higher amounts of blood during exercise or any strenuous activity, which automatically affects the blood pressure levels.
During a stress test it is possible to determine the heart rate, blood pressure and also perform an ECG or echocardiogram. It also measures the level of tiredness.

Healthy people can take stress test without any risks involved. However, for people who are heart patient or have some underlying health complications, it is important to go through the test under medical supervision.
