Emergency treatment for high blood pressure

Incidence of severe hypertension requires immediate action and emergency treatments. Conditions where emergency treatments are necessary are congestive heart failure and hypertension during pregnancy. Injectable drugs are highly effective for emergency treatment of people suffering from hypertension. Sodium nitroprusside and labetalol are commonly used injections in this regard. ACE inhibitors are effective in the direction of emergency hypertension treatment. However, its effectiveness varies from victim to victim. People with hypertension and kidney disease, need to be monitored rigorously while treating them with ACE inhibitors. Use of ACE inhibitors might trigger loss of potassium in such cases. According to medicinal research papers, people having hypertension and second diseases should be treated with combination of drugs. An effective solution in this direction is the combination of ACE inhibitor and an ARB drug. Beta-blocking drugs are also helpful in emergency treatment of high blood pressure.
